Missouri Ozarks Community Action and local community sponsors launched the first "Operation Rescue Katrina" tractor trailer load of requested emergency relief supplies to Louisiana.
On Sunday, Sept. 18, a Colonial Freight truck pulled out of an ATR Lighting Warehouse shipping dock transporting emergency relief supplies to Louisiana's Community Action agencies.
ATR Lightning has been and continues to be the central drop off point for all emergency relief items donated to "Operation Rescue Katrina."
MOCA's staff coordinated and worked closely with Colonial Freight, ATR Lighting, Bank of Crocker, Evans Supermarket and the surrounding eight counties that MOCA serves to obtain and secure the first round of requested emergency relief items.
ATR Lighting has donated a portion of their warehouse to make room for the donated items. The items donated by the community include: disposable diapers, baby formula, cleaning supplies and blankets. Those items are still being received at ATR Lighting warehouse, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A hearty thanks to ATR Lighting, Colonial Freight, Bank of Crocker, and Evans Supermarket for their donation of the warehouse, transportation, monetary and strong community support.
And a very special thank you to all the residents in our eight county area for their donations of the requested emergency relief items and their part in making a little bit warmer the lives of the individuals affected by the fury of Katrina.
